CONTRA COSTA SELPA SERVICES AND PROCEDURES (Posted 10/10/07) Informational brochure about SELPA and Special Education services and procedures.

 

LOCAL PLAN (Posted 2/8/12) The Local Plan describes the composition, organization administration and authority of the Contra Costa SELPA. A committee with participants from each of the 16 LEAs comprising the SELPA develops the Local Plan. It is revised and submitted to the State Board of Education for approval every three years.

 

PARENT HANDBOOK AND GUIDE TO SPECIAL EDUCATION (Updated 11/22/10) A handbook for parents of special education students, as well as an informative guide for parents who feel their child may qualify for special education services. PROCEDURES GUIDE (Last updated December 2011) The Procedures Guide-Online is updated as information changes or becomes available.

The purpose of this guide is to provide specific information regarding processes and procedures in special education. The Procedures Guide provides answers as to why and how special education functions. The guide acts as a reference tool for both nuts and bolts information and best practices in special education. The Procedures Guide is an official policy document of the Contra Costa SELPA and each member Local Education Agency (LEA).This Procedures Guide is to be used as a resource tool by all special education personnel. It is intended for this guide to be used as a working document to assist teachers, parents, administrators, and staff involved in helping students with special needs. The Procedures Guide contains a variety of useful tools to assist you in using it as a resource.
